Hey everyone! I hope yall are doing well. It's Wednesday and I am exhausted! We have been practicing so much already this week. Most of the people from the other teams (the Blue team and the White team) arrived here at Life Action Camp on Sunday. Because there is still a thing called Family Camp going on here, we do not have enough space to allow 3 teams of 20 people to practice all at once. So to avoid a heavy amount of cramped singers and instrumentalists, the Red team moved into the nearest city (Niles, Michigan) to practice this week at a church.
I had my first experience of riding on the Red team bus and unpacking all of our equipment from our 18-wheeler on Monday. We spent most of that morning setting up all of the equipment, which is a substantial amount, and prepping the room in a similar way that we will do it every Summit. That afternoon we began working on seeing what the full band and singers sounded like together. It wasn't that long of a day but we did get quite a large amount of work done.
Yesterday and today, and the rest of the week for that matter, we have a very full schedule. In the mornings we work on vocals and songs that we call "Team Songs." These comprise mainly of a cappella songs that everyone sings together. It is almost like a small ensemble singing choir songs. The afternoons are made up of the band and the singers splitting and spending time working on their respective parts. We then get back together in the middle of the afternoon to put all of the pieces together and work out all the kinks. It can be tedious work, but it is stuff that I love! And how much better can it be singing praises to our great God?!
It has also been a blessing to have been able to go out to eat each day for lunch! And not only that, it is paid for by Life Action! Don't get me wrong, the camp food here is not bad at all. But I will admit that a $5 foot-long from Subway has never looked or tasted so good!
We usually leave the camp every morning around 8 and practice through the day until 5. At least that was the supposed plan starting on Monday. We did end up leaving the church on Monday around 5. However, I cannot say the same about yesterday or today! We ended up leaving after 6 these past two days. But we have covered a lot of ground and it has been very awesome to see God work through us not only as a team but as a family.
One of the goals we are working towards this week is leading worship for the camp here on Sunday morning AND evening. Each team gets a Sunday to lead on and because the Red team has been here the longest, we get our turn first. I am very excited about it and I know that God is going to do awesome things through the Red team this year!
Please continue to pray for me:
-That I will continue to be flexible
-That I will be a leader among my team
-That He will continue to grow a servant's heart in me
-That He alone will be the one that I depend on
I miss all of you guys very much! I am continuing to pray for each and every one of you. I've been excited to hear all of the awesome things that God has been doing with the DearToUs Initiative! Keep allowing God to use you no matter where you're at!
I love you all,
Reid

The Start of a Journey
Hey Everyone!
It's day three here at Life Action! I'm sitting in the Lodge enjoying a beautiful view of the lake as I write this. It's been a good couple of days. I got settled in on Sunday afternoon as my family dropped me off at my cabin and helped me move my stuff in. That was a long day in itself! Lots of emotions. But they were all good ones. Yesterday (Monday), we were up and working. We began our vocal training which is the majority of our training this week. We are training pretty much nonstop til dinner at 5:30 each day. I'm still in the process of getting to know everyone and meeting my team. Speaking of my team: It's time for the big announcement! (Drum roll please.......) I am officially a new team member of... the RED team! That means that I will be traveling back to Candies Creek to help do a Summit with you guys. I will not be there until April, I believe, but that is pretty exciting!
Right now, I'm trying to get my bearings and just figure out everything that I will be doing. It's an adjustment, but a good one at that. I want to thank you all for your prayers because I have definitely felt them the past couple of days! It has made this time of transition so much easier! These next couple of weeks, please pray that:
-I would be flexible and be willing to be used in whatever avenue the Lord will use me this year.
-I would lean on Him wholeheartedly
-He would continue to build a servant's heart in me
-I will be comforted as I go through the process of building new friendships
The Lord has already taught me so much in the past day! I can't wait to see what all He is going to teach me throughout this year. It's an exciting time! You are all here and going through this time with me. I thank you all so much for your love and support! It has been one of the greatest blessings and I love you all very much. I will be asking around to see if I will have a mailing address up here and what it might be. As soon as I find something out, I will let you guys know!
I love you all,
Reid
